Christmas Picnic
When every day can be a Christmas Day in our household, I was feeling nostalgic for my family’s favourites in my choices. Start with cheesy biscuits as sticks, something Asian (we were into exotic tastes early in North Queensland).
Can anyone remember prawn toasts and deep fried noodles that went soft when you put the chow mein sauce on it?) The bushies’ “ham” (or if you were lucky enough to score a leg of pork, you brined it and cooked it yourself in the old copper) was always served with a potato salad, some icy cold watermelon followed and a good old pav, well it was mostly trifle but we had that last time.
