Schubert - Review by Lynne and Peter - July 2021
Stephen Doyle
An Ode to Bloodwood’s Schubert
Old friend Schubert, one of father’s favourites,
Wattle yellow of August blooms, diamond bright.
Delicate nose of honeydew beguiles and delights,
Warming, opens to pears, buttery, toasty, light.
Flavour fills the mouth, lingers on palate and tongue.
Elegant, easy - a spot of magic in the day,
Filling the heart with summery happiness.
Comforting on a COVID Friday night, sad and long,
Bringing memories of shared bottles with family and friends, yeah!
Everybody loves Schubert, Roy’s legacy endless.
